Getting started

Adding songs

You can add songs three ways: paste lyrics and chords directly, type them in by hand, or bulk-import from Google Docs. For import, sign in with Google, pick the Docs you want, and Encore brings them in and cleans up the chord formatting.

Reading chords

Encore uses inline notation — a chord in brackets like [G] before a word renders that chord right above the lyric. Imported "chords over lyrics" sheets are converted to this format automatically.

On stage

Performance mode

Open a song and start Performance mode for a fullscreen dark view. Tap the right side of the screen to scroll down, the left side to scroll up. You can turn on auto-scroll and set its speed, pinch to zoom, and adjust font size with A− / A+. The screen stays awake so it won't dim mid-song.

Foot pedals

Encore responds to Bluetooth foot pedals that send arrow, space, or page keys, so you can advance songs and sections hands-free.

Transpose, capo & metronome

Change a song's key by half-steps, set a capo to see easy chord shapes against the true sounding key, and use the per-song metronome with tap-tempo and count-in.

Setlists & band sync

Build a setlist for a show, tap any song to start the set there, and move through it with the arrows or a foot pedal. To play off the same charts as your band, host a live session and share the short code — everyone follows the same song in real time while keeping their own capo.

Backup & sync

Your library lives on your device by default. Sign in with Google to sync it to your own Google Drive across devices, or export it as a file for a manual backup or to hand off to a bandmate.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Encore works fully without any account. Google sign-in is optional and only used for importing your Docs and syncing to your own Drive.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After the first load, Encore works with no internet connection.

How do I get my songs back if I delete the app?

If you synced to Google Drive, sign back in on the new install and your library returns. If you exported a backup file, import it. Local-only data is removed when the app is deleted, so keep a backup if you rely on it.
